What is MPAC?
MPAC is a welcoming space where students, families, and school staff come together as partners to support our multilingual learners. We believe that when we listen to one another and work together, we can create a school community where every student feels seen, valued, connected, and ready to succeed. Families bring important experiences, ideas, cultures, languages, and strengths to our school community. Your voice can help us better understand what students and families need and how we can support them together.
Through MPAC, families can:
* Share ideas, questions, and experiences.
* Connect and build relationships with other families
* Learn ways to support their child’s learning and success.
* Learn about school programs, resources, and opportunities.
* Work together to create meaningful events and activities for students and families.
* Celebrate the many cultures, languages, and traditions in our community.
* Partner with school staff to strengthen support for multilingual learners.
Why Join MPAC?
You are an important part of our school community!
You know your child, their strengths, interests, hopes, and experiences. By sharing your voice, you can help us think together about how we can make school an even more positive experience for multilingual learners and their families. MPAC is about partnership, not perfection. You don't need to have all the answers. We want to listen, learn, and grow together.
MPAC Board
An opportunity for parents and caregivers who would like to work more closely with other families and school staff to help plan and support MPAC activities.
What does it mean to be part of the MPAC Board?
Being part of the MPAC Board means working together as a team to make sure family and student voices are heard.
Board members may help:
* Plan events and activities that students and families will enjoy.
* Share ideas about topics families would like to learn about or discuss.
* Welcome new families and help them feel connected.
* Help plan celebrations and events.
* Share information and resources with other families.
* Listen to the ideas, experiences, and needs of students and families.
* Partner with school staff to identify ways we can better support multilingual learners.
* Encourage and invite other families to participate.
You do not need to have leadership experience to join.
We will learn together, support one another, and share the work. There are many ways to contribute, and we will work together to find a role that feels comfortable and meaningful for you.
